What's new
The newest release of SARscape - version 6.3.0 - introduces several new features and algorithmic improvements. The key features among the new enhancements are:

- Inverse-SAR Refocusing: New tool for refocusing of detected target in a SAR image that is moving in the azimuth directions
- Radar Cross Section: New workflow for Radar Cross Section which indicates the level of detectability of an object by a radar.
- RGIQE-RNIIRS: New tool for rating the quality of SAR image according to the Radar Generalized Image Quality Equation (RGIQE) and the Radar National Imagery Interpretability Rating Scale (RNIIRS).
- Oil Tank Detection: New tool for Oil Tank Detection and feature parameter extraction that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- 3D Point Estimation: New interactive tool for reconstruction of the 3D coordinates of a point from two overlapping SAR stereo-images.
- Height Estimation: New interactive tool for estimation of object’s height from layover and shadow features on a single SAR image.
- Preferences specific: New sections for Feature extraction (ISAR, Oil Spill Classification and Flooding Classification) and Displacement Amplitude Tracking.
- Preferences specific: Umbra new preferences section.
Improvements:
- Import Generic SAR data: Possibility to use Area of Interest (AOI) file in projection different from GCS_WGS_1984 (added in all workflows which include Import Generic SAR Data)
- Performance improvements: Several tools and processes are resctuctured for better processing performance, bux fixing, data quality improvements - Layover and Shadow Mask Generation, Ship Detection, SAR AIS Matching, Phase to Height Conversion and Geocoding, Phase to Displacement Conversion and Geocoding, Stereo Matching Process, Shift to Height Conversion and Geocoding, MAI Phase to Displacement Conversion and Geocoding, Amplitude Tracking Process, Shift to Displacement Conversion and Geocoding
- Import SICD: Import SICD adds Squint Angle.
- Import AIS: New option for importing predefined AIS format (CSV DK, CSV NOAA) or simplified Custom CSV format.
- Sentinel-1 MultiDownload: New option to Hide the console.
- Basic Module - Workflows: New organisation of the module and workflows, icluding Coherence workflows. The new workflows provide automatic selection of SARscape preferences for the chosen data type or manual selection from the list of predefied preferences.
- Intensity Time Series: New workflow type with direct access to the list of predefined SARscape preferences.
- Intensity Single Image: New workflow type with direct access to the list of predefined SARscape preferences.
- Flooding Classification workflow and tool: New parameters - High Scattering Point Threshold (dB) and Skip Refinement Step. Additional option for appliyng Land Mask from shapefile or OpenStreetMap.
- Moving Target Detection: New workflow type with direct access to the list of predefined SARscape preferences. New parameters - Generate Datacube, Number of Split Spectrum, Intensity of the split
- Coherence & Amplitude Classifier: New workflow type combining the old Coherence CCD Workflow, Coherence ILU-RGB Workflow, Coherence MTC RGB Workflow, with option for classification from coherence threshold or from combination of coherence and amplitude variations
- Multilooking: New parameter for Mutilook statistics for Mean, Min, Max, Mode, Median, Standard deviation extimation.
- Geocoding and Radiometric Calibration: Improved algorithm to use cos lia to compute Gamma 0. New output ENVI RASTER SERIES dB.
- Layover and Shadow Mask Generation: Support PFA geometry.
- Feature Extraction: Renamed to Feature Characteristics.
- Multitemporal Coherence: New parameter – Generate Amplitude Time Series.
- Activity Index: Changed function for the AOI shapefile and dbf to save one shapefile for each index and save the list of values for the list of AOI. Updated names of parameters and output files.
- Flooding Classification Refinement: New Parameters Selection (Automatic-select from input or Manual).
- Ship Detection: New Optional files - DEM and Slant Range Reference file. Land Mask Shape file list is moved from Input Files to Optional files. Optional OpenStreetMap mask added
- Moving Target Detection: New parameters - Generate Datacube and Number of Split Spectrum.
- SAR AIS Matching: New Optional files - DEM and Slant Range Reference file. New naming convention for the output files.
- Interferometry Module - Workflows: New organisation of the module and workflows - Interferometry - Automatic Refinement, Interferometry - Manual GCP Refinement, Coherence.
- Interferogram Generation: Support for interferometric processing of NISAR GSLC data from slant range to geocoded displacement products. Automatic rainbow colour table for _int, _dint and _fint products.
- Phase to Displacement Conversion and Geocoding: Improved processing time. Support of PFA geometry. Support of geocoded SLC data format.
- Stereo Matching Process: New functionality to handle crossed track and cross platforms/sensors. Optional output added – Azimuth Shift.
- Shift Refinement and Re-flattening: New Optional files - Input Azimuth Shift File and Azimuth Synthetic Shift File.
- Shift to Height Conversion and Geocoding: New Optional files - Input Azimuth Shift File and Azimuth Synthetic Shift File.
- Amplitude Tracking Process: New parameter - Max Displacement (m).
- Displacement Modelling: new possibility for multitemporal geophysical modelling – a sequence of seismic events. Improved damping options for the slip/opening distributions.
- Geocoding: Additional option - selection of Geoid Type.
- Generate Color Composite: New operation type for Dual Amplitude Change Detection (DACD).
- Generate Ground Control Points: The tool is sebstituded with two tools - Generate Geometry Ground Control Points for correcting SAR data in slant range geometry and Generate Refinement Ground Control Points for residual phase and trend removal.

End-of-Life announcement
With the next SARscape major release, the RAMP DEM Extraction tool will reach end-of-life due to online unavailability of this DEM data.
In the next SARscape release the two groups of Interferometry workflows – with Automatic refinement and with Manual GCP refinement will be combined in one group, in which the type of refined will be selected as an optional condition.
