Instructions on Creating / Updating Licenses on the Web

THIS INFORMATION ONLY PERTAINS TO SOFTWARE VERSIONS IDL 8.5, ENVI 5.3 AND PRIOR

To Log into the Web Licensing On-line Application:

To Make a New License:

  •  From the maintenance contract screen, click on the "Activate License" button.
  •  Customer access will display a drop-down list of licensing options. Select the type of license you would like to create.
  •  After selecting the license type, fill in your system information. To obtain more information on the requested fields, click on the underlined links.
  •  To simplify your record keeping, you may select the License user of the license from the end-user drop down list. If the end-user is not in our database, you can add the user by clicking the "Create New License User" link.
  • Once you have filled in the necessary information, click the Activate License button.
  • Customer Access will display your new license. You may click the link "Email License" button to send an e-mail of the license and licensing instructions.
  • To return to the maintenance contract main screen, select Maintenance Contract from the grey menu bar and My Contracts

To Re-host a License:

Please note: you may only re-host a license to a new system if your maintenance contract is up-to-date.

  • From the contract main screen, click on the link for the specific license you would like to re-host.
  • View complete Terms and Condition and agree to them by checking the checkbox
  • Update the appropriate fields to indicate the new system information and/or license configuration (host/server name and host/server ID).
  • Click the "Activate License" button.
  • Your re-hosted license will be display. You may click the link "Email License" to send an e-mail of the license and licensing instructions.

You will need to check the box that indicates you will be removing the license from the previous machine. If both of these are accurate, you may re-host a license.
