Internal: How to use the current directory as Classic ENVI's default data directory on UNIX

Anonym
Classic ENVI users working on UNIX systems may prefer that ENVI use the current working directory as ENVI's default data directory. To get ENVI to use the current directory as the default data directory, first choose System -> Edit Current Configuration -> Default Directories and remove any information listed under the "Default Data Directory" field. Once the Default Data Directory field is blank, select OK in the Preferences: Default Directories dialog. In the Edit System Preferences dialog choose File -> Save Configuration. Overwrite your normal envi.cfg configuration file so that this change will be permanent.

Next, delete, move, or rename the ENVI initial default data directory under your ENVI installation.

The next time you start ENVI, it will be unable to find its default data directory and will return a warning message. If you choose OK in the warning message window, then ENVI will start with the current working directory as default data directory.
