Internal: ION 1.1 and Windows NT Service Pack 4
Anonym
Update 3/13/2012: This shouldn't be an issue we see but I think we should keep this around just in case.
Topic:
It has been reported and confirmed that ION does not function properly on Windows NT after Service Pack 4 has been installed. The symptom is that ION service dies.Discussion:
The only known fix for this is to uninstall Service Pack 4 and revert to Service Pack 3. If Service Pack 4 was not installed with the uninstall feature selected, NT will need to be reinstalled and service packs up to 3 installed.
The problem manifests itself when the ION Daemon fires off an ION Server. On some NT machines, an error message that claims initialization of a DLL failed with error code 0xc00000005 will appear.
One customer has reported this problem already. Please let me know if other customers run into it. Also, make sure you inform customers of this problem before they attempt to install ION in case their system already has Service Pack 4 installed on it. And, let me know if anyone has success with ION and Service Pack 4.
This is no longer a problem with ION 1.2.Solution:
