Which Next-Generation License Server version should I install on my system?
In general, we recommend installing and using the latest Next-Generation License Server (NGLS) version on your server machine to ensure that the most up-to-date features are implemented and any potential problems or security vulnerabilities have been fixed.
However, it is technically possible to use the respective NGLS versions that are still available and supported for your system. Consequently, your licenses can continue to be activated and used on NGLS 4.3, 4.4, and 4.5.
Since the available NGLS versions have varying dependencies (MongoDB and Node.js versions), it is essential to check which operating system is used on your server and whether it is supported by the corresponding NGLS version. This information can be found in the “Install Guides” (see also the "Release Notes" for the latest updates) for the respective NGLS versions on our download page as well as in the table below:

Please note regarding⚠️: NGLS 4.4 installer under CentOS and Amazon Linux requires manual adjustments in order to install properly and therefore it is not fully recomended.
*For NGLS 4.5.1 on some updated Ubuntu 24.04 systems, the License Administrator GUI program may not function because of incompatible sub-dependencies. In this case, the "licensing" command line utility may be used to manange license activations (see the Licensing Utility section of the NGLS installation guide for usage information).
