creating a mean image 1696 0
Started by Deleted User
I'm looking for a simple way to average multiple images that have different missing data in each image. I've tried SUM DATA BANDS, as well as Band Math, but i still run into the same problem. With SUM DATA BANDS, i can't exclude missing data. With Band Math i was able to add all the data i wanted but then i couldn't average it correctly. Missing data has a value of either 254 or 255, so i wrote: (B1 LT 250) *B1 (B2 LT 250) *B2...... for 8 bands. However, when i divide the whole thing by 8 at t...

Topographic Features question 1599 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi there -- I'm trying to use topography feature extraction to get a map of local 3 x 3 image maximum (e.g. 'peaks') -- I'm noticing that 'close' values (even with the slope tolerance set to 90 and curvature to 0.000) sometimes result in adjacent pixels being classified as peaks -- since a peak is, by definition, a pixel with all neighbors lower than it, and there are NOT equal values in these adjacent 'peaks', I'm a bit stumped as to what might be going on.
On a related note, what, exactly,...

Images co-Registration problem 1629 0
Started by Deleted User
Happy New Year!
I have tried to co-registered the images, however, the 'map info' of those co-registered images were gone after I re-opened them again in the 'avaliable band list' Therefore, I have to do all the analysis at once before I shut the software.
However, even I coregistered the images, I cannot link them together. I am 100 sure that both images cover the same area and with same coordiante system. However, the system pops up an error
' There is no common data with which to l...

Landsat 5 calibration Post May 5, 2003 1556 0
Started by Deleted User
Can anyone tell me if ENVI 4.1 incorporates the change in Landsat 5 offsets and biases in their automated radiance and reflectance calibration tool for post- May 5, 2003 images Does the tool use a lookup table or read information directly from the image header Thanks in advance.

post-classification operation 1625 0
Started by Deleted User
Hello all,
I need to implement some post-classification operation over an image that covered by vector GIS layer of land-use polygons. In new classification image each polygon should belong to the class of biggest pixel group within given polygon.
Anybody have an idea where I should start
Thank you in advance

Calibrating Landsat ETM for surface temperature extraction: some questions 1635 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi Folks, Merry Chistmas. I have been using the Landsat ETM calibration tool in ENVI for the primary purpose of extracting surface temperature from the thermal band 6. The result has returned unusally low surface temp values.
So: does the spectral radiance need to be processed further to get correct values
I have been calibrating just the thermal band, is this legitimate
Is it better to process the high gain (band 62) or the low gain (band 61) data
Some help with this and maybe some ap...

toggle linked display with 1 button mouse 1616 0
Started by Deleted User
Running ENVI on MacOSX: Should I be able to cycle through linked displays with a 1-button mouse I can't discover how to emulate 'MB1 MB2', the combination needed to toggle through linked displays. MB2 is itself emulated by pressing Option key with a mouse click (ie with MB1).
Pressing Option or Command keys while clicking the mouse emulates 2nd or 3rd mouse buttons just fine - but how is the simultaneous clicking of two buttons emulated

Hi folks, I'm pretty new to ENVI and was wondering if I could have some help in processing Modis NDVI products in preperatin for MM5 modelling. Have got them reporjected etc. but data values are very high for NDVI. Read some where I need to divide values by 10 000, how do i go about this for the whole band
Thanks

I want to do a simple ratio of image(*, cols, rows) over spectral (*) using ENVI. I have a IDL code as below, but it does not work through band math function. Any help will be appreciated it.
function atmc, b1, s1
; do the ratio of image to atmos correction spectra
imgdim=size(b1,/dimensions)
cols=imgdim&911&93
rows=imgdim&912&93
for i = 0, rows -1 do begin
for m = 0, cols - 1 do begin
result = b1(*, m, i) / s1(*)
endfor
endfor
return, result

Geological Data Extraction using ENVI 1955 0
Started by Deleted User
Dear ENVI users,
Do any one of you know how to use ENVI for geological data extraction. Are there some special function in ENVI to extract geological data from Landsat ETM data. Do any one know about special IDL scripts or ENVI built-in function or module that help us to extract geological data from Landsat ETM data..
Thanks

help - classification error on mosaicked data 1695 0
Started by Deleted User
hello, i need some urgent help here,
the problem i'm having is that after i've mosaicked my data strips using the 'feathering' method, and run classification on the whole mosaicked data, I got an error message - some sort of 'array error' - the classification was halted at 90.
but, if i mosaicked without using feathering, i can run the whole mosaicked data without this error.
But i need to use data with mosaicked (feathering) due to better image quality.
anyone had encountered simil...
