how to save multiple loaded images? 1313 1
Started by Deleted User
hello, I have loaded 31 Ikonos multispectral images in my view. Because it took about 25 minutes to get them all loaded up, I would like to save them somehow in a group to be more easily displayed later, like one can do in arcmap and other wares as a group and saving them to a layer file for later used. how to do this in envi 5.0.2 thanks.

spectral math, ts_smooth 1183 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi all. I am having problems for using IDL functions in spectral math in ENVI. there are many tutorials about the syntax of expressions, but I can't figure out how to call an IDL function such as TS_SMOOTH. I would like to smooth noisy spectra, and from what I could read the IDL syntax for it is
Result = TS_SMOOTH( X, Nvalues &91, /BACKWARD&93 &91, /DOUBLE&93 &91, /FORWARD&93 &91, ORDER=value&93 )
In the spectral math window, I tried a huge number of syntaxes, all of them being refused....

Orthorectification of Pan-sharpened Image 1810 1
Started by Deleted User
I have a WV2 image - both the multispectral and panchromatic images of my AOI. I first applied pan-sharpening to achieve a high spatial and high spectral resolution to my satellite image. Now, I want to orthorectify this pan-sharpened image. What orthorectification workflow should I use Or which is advisable Say if I'll use the RPC orthorectification workflow, which RPC should I input - that of the multispectral image, or that of the panchromatic image
Thanks!

Is it possible to do a simple logic calculation using Band Math to get an output band that satisfies the criteria, such as:
If Band 2 > Band 1 and Band 2 > Band 3 then 1 Else 0

Scanned Ungeoreferenced Historical Aerials - Help w/Workflow 1196 3
Started by Deleted User
I have many sets of ungeoreferenced scanned historical aerials for various years that cover the same geographic area. There are always overlaps between adjacent frames for any given year. I want to mosaic and georeference them so that they can be aligned and overlaid with more recent aerial photography. The workflow that I was thinking of was to mosaic all the ungeoreferenced frames for a given year first and then georeference the one mosaicked file. Is this the best workflow to proceed wit...

Create video 1184 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello everyone,
I'm asking kind of favor. Could you suggest any routine or code to create a video in IDL or ENVI tool to visualize all band combinations of my hyperspectral image. For example if i have 48 bands. It is impressive amount of band combinations to visualize in envi. I think it will be more easier to understand which band combination visualize best differences of interesting objects.
Best regards
Skywalker

Error message while loading WorldView-2 multispectral images 1237 2
Started by Deleted User
I have a pair of WorldView-2 images which were edited and partially blanked out by DigitalGlobe due to their proximity to an international border. When I try to open them in ENVI 4.8 the following message comes up: "An error was caught in the main event handler. Error: OPENR: Null filename not allowed." I can load the images in ArcMap but only have three of the normal eight multispectral bands showing. Has anyone else come across this

Degree missing in GCP in Classic 5.0 1274 1
Started by Deleted User
We're investigating a classification from MODIS and using TM as ground truth.
This involves warping a TM raster in UTM to an expanded MODIS-derived raster
in its native satellite projection. This would be trivial in the Sat-UTM direction,
but UTM->Sat must be done by hand, picking GCPs and warping with a degree-2 NN polynomial.
There are certain functionalities I need to find equivalents to:
a) display UTM grid over TM scene in half-degree increments
b) construct similar vector o...

Mosaic with color balancing 2001 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi
Whats the best method of doing mosaic in ENVI I have more than 5 SPOT images and I am trying to do mosaicing of the image; I see following problems
1) color balancing: it does not show proper color match with the ideal image. I tried to put the ideal image as "fixed" and others as "adjust" but does not help
2) I see image borders: When I mosaic images, I distinctly see borders. I tried to follow the help topic and put the feathering distance to 25 but still no help. Most p...

FFT filtering 1330 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi--
For some reason a search on 'Fourier' is coming up blank---I have a question about the user-defined filters.
I want to use FFT to explore the potential for suppressing sand dunes/dune ridges in order to highlight other features in a landscape. Simple directional filters won't do what I need so I want to explore Fourier world.
However, it seems like the User Defined Filters only allow you to work with .ann files--but that's really clunky for this and I don't see a way to be scientific about...

Spatial subsetting 1160 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi
I have two raster datasets one is Shaded relief DEM and another is high resolution optical imagery.
The shaded relief is bigger in spatial extent than imagery. I want to make extent of both imagery exactly same, hence I would like to clip that. Here the most important thing is that the optical imagery is not square. It exists according to the outline of my study area.
For this I went into "Resize data" and selected Shaded relief DEM and selected "Spatial subset". After th...

Image resampling to 2 Meters 1134 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi
I have Worldview-1 image with 2 meter resotion.
I downloaded DEM from geobase.ca and created shaded relief DEM using "topographic modelling" tool of ENVI.
Now, the Shaded relief DEM has a pixel size of ~17M where as Worldview-2 has a pixel size of 2 M.
I want to make the pixel size of both the datasets to 2M, How can I do that

Landsat 8 and ENVI 5 2474 7
Started by Deleted User
I've finally decided to try out ENVI 5 after having SP3 installed (I've been using ENVI Classic as I really have issues with the ENVI 5 interface and (in my opinion lack of) user friendliness, and the fact that ENVI 5 is missing several tools from Classic that I use on a regular basis. My current project is using some Landsat 8 imagery so I was really looking forward to being able to use SP3 updates to do reflectance conversions, TCT, etc. easily on these Landsat 8 images. However, I'm running...

OK, more FLAASH questions... 1185 4
Started by Deleted User
Hi--
OK, tearing my hair out over this one. I've gotten everything thru FLAASH, all the atmospheric corrections have been made, etc....but all of the images are now geographically off by about 20-30 miles! I'm not sure if setting the center coordinate has anything to do with this...didn't think it should. Any idea why this is happening
Thanks--

Follow-up question about FLAASH and ASTER L1B data 1254 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi again, forum--
One more question about FLAASH with ASTER L1B data. The tutorial suggests that there should be a SCENECENTER attribute in the metadata, but there is none--only 4 GRINGPOINT entries each for latitude and longitude. It also says that I need to stack/rotate the image first, then get the center point from there---this part is fine--do I need to mask out the no-data (black) strips on the edge first
in other words, is the workflow:
1. Stack VNIR/SWIR bands
2. Rotate image
3. t...

remote connection 1244 3
Started by Deleted User
Does anyone know how to connect to remote ArcGIS server I am using ENVI 5.0.3 (32 and 64 bit) and am having issues:
I open the remote connection manager > connection > new
The URL of the ArcGIS server is http://gisprpxy.itd.state.ma.us/arcgi... (this works as a remote connected ArcGIS server in ArcMap just fine so I'm sure the URL is correct and my firewalls allow for this).
I leave the default under "name"
I select ArcGIS Server from the drop down.
The last two fields are self-popula...
