I've installed IDL under ubuntu feisty. I work usually with shortcuts keyboard (e.g. F5 to run, CTRL + F5 to compile). Regarding editing keys, the pulldown Edit menu on the IDLDE shows Alt-c, Alt-v, etc., as options for copying, pasting, etc but these don't work. Only under IDL enviroment these keys and a wheel mouse don't work. Any idea? How do I find or modified the editing keys? Thnx in advance. Regards

I just recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 and let it install all updates to this version, then installed IDL. I found that the F5 (run) and CTRL+F5 (compile) do work. I have to be sure to select the editor window before I use the shortcuts. I find that the Alt-c, Alt-v, and copy/cut/paste from the Edit menu do not work. These are surely controlled by the OS clipboard but I have not figured out how to make them work. I did find that the unix convention of copy/paste did work. I could select the text, then use the middle mouse button to paste the text. I also found that if I copy from the editor window into the native text edtior (gedit), then copied from here and back into the IDL editor window would also work.
