Greetings and Happy Friday! I am trying to plot some spectral curves. My question: In ENVI 4.3, how do you keep the spectral profile that you plotted from changing in the event that you want to collect another profile from another part of the image, i.e. change the spatial location in the zoom window? I have already tried un-checking the collect spectra option. I would appreciate assistance and look forward to hearing from someone. In the meantime, all the best!

I usually like to use the Options -> New Windows: with plots from the spectral profile tool. This creates a secondary plot window that is static. So as I browse around the image using the z-profile tool, this plot is not affected. If I see a spectrum that I am interested in, I can copy it to my secondary static plot by dragging it and dropping it. To do this, first show the plot key in the z-profile tool by right-clicking in the plot window and selecting 'Plot key'. This brings up a legend in the plot window of the current spectrum pixel location. Then 'grab' the spectrum by the label in the key by holding down the left mouse button and drag it to the secondary static plot window, then let go of the mouse button. It will drop a copy of the spectrum into the secondary plot window. Then you have a place to 'store' the spectra you are interested in and you can save this to its own spectral library our output it to ascii.

Many thanks to Peg and Mari. I found a work around using a competitor's software. I will try Mari's method in the future.
