Hello, i've generated a DEM from the bands 3N and 3B of an ASTER image using the tool DEM Extraction Wizard. I defined myself some GCPs (X Y Z coordinates) all around the studied area. My problem is that the generated DEM is displayed in gray values and i need it in meters. Is there any way to convert it? or maybe did i miss a step during processing? I wish you can help me, Charles

I am confused when you say 'gray values'. The DEM generated from ASTER should inherit the map projection you defined during the DEM Extraction process. The default projection is UTM, so the pixel locations should be in UTM which uses meters as its unit of measure. You can confirm this by displaying the DEM and using the Cursor Location/Value tool to move from pixel to pixel. So, can you explain what you mean by 'gray values' and what you are trying to measure?
