I need help for automatically (without any user interaction) run an IDL code various times a day, without having to provide any new IDL licence.   For that, I try to run a *.bat file with the following line: “idlrt.exe -vm  .\filepath\filename.sav” Unfortunately, when trying to run the IDL Virtual Machine from the Windows command line, there is always this useless IDL-VM button asking “click to continue”.   How do I get rid of this user interaction (the useless button)?   Thanks, Edwin Campos.

With all respect, I suggest ITT to get rid of the Virtual Machine click-to-continue.   Certainly, there is the ethical aspect of showing this free-advertisement window. There is also the bad-strategy aspect of having ITT free-advertisement with the restricting click. Recall that “IDL VM can be used for both commercial and NON-COMMERCIAL applications” (quoted from IDL VM website).   As an IDL programmer, I feel operationally constrained, since the “ClickToContinue” does not allow running *.sav files unattended.   As an IDL user, I would like to see it as the software standard in my field. The Virtual Machine has the potential for massively showing the IDL might. Unfortunately, the current Virtual-Machine window (the click-to-continue in particular) is annoying, and that implies bad marketing.

At the IDL Virtual Machine website I read: When a developer does not wish the IDL VM splash screen to appear… ITT offers additional distribution models…”   Can somebody here provide technical suggestions on this?   Thanks.
