I just had the system administrator upgrade my IDL to version 7.0.  Now, when I go to launch it, it brings up the IDL Workspace Launcher, asking me to select a directory for it to save project files.  I give it the location of a directory in my home directory, but when I click OK, it tells me "Workspace in use or cannot be created, choose a different one."  However, it does not seem to matter which directory I select, I get the same error.  I am running IDL under Ubuntu Linux, the the system administrator says that he fixed the License Manager issue to point to the correct location for the license.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The IT guys figured it out:  the hard drive file system didn't support file-locking.  They created a folder that did support it, and IDL loads fine now.
