Same OS (Suse Linux 11.1, 32bit, KDE4), similar problem. While I'm not using iimage, the problem occurs when trying to draw an IDLgrScene into an IDLgrWindow object in a selfmade program. It's no problem when running it under SuSE 11.0. Even when running it under SuSE 11.1 everything works fine, when forwarding the IDL Window to a different X11-terminal running an older X-Server. So I conclude there's a problem with the communication between IDL (tried 7.0 and 7.1) and the X-Server currently shipped with Suse 11.1 Linux. Anyone else have similar problems? Any suggested solutions, apart from the workarounds I already mentioned? Best regards, Peter Strub

Brandon, thanks a lot! That solved the issue for me. Just for the record, the X-Server used with SuSE 11.1 is X.Org 7.4-8.13, and I'm using the included "radeonhd" driver. Maybe with these details someone can find out more about this problem. So far everything seems to work fine in IDL even without OpenGL, so I don't see a reason to start experimenting with different graphics drivers for now. Best regards, Peter
