Any one using  IDL with the Sun Grid Engine?    I am running several instances of IDL.  I get much more reasonable load averages if I set tpool_nthreads=1.  I was wondering if anyone has suggestions as to the best way to run IDL in a queuing system.    I am not sure whether i might be able to  treat threading as a parallel enviroment and reserve a certain number of processors.  This is all new to me.    Thanks for any info.  As a users, much of SGE is over my head.
