I just installed ENVI 4.6.1 on a Windows 7 machine (and rebooted at least twice).  Both the operating system and ENVI are the 64-bit versions.  Both ENVI (with or without IDL) and ENVI Zoom crash when I try to load them, but IDL loads just fine.  Does anyone have a fix for this?

The workbench appears to be working fine.  I have installed the appropriate versions on Java 5.0 revision 11 (both 32 and 64-bit versions).  All Windows 7 updates were installed. When I try to start ENVI, I get this error: Log Name:      Application Source:        Application Error Date:          4/30/2009 9:43:50 PM Event ID:      1000 Task Category: (100) Level:         Error Keywords:      Classic User:          N/A Computer:      Tsunami Description: Faulting application name: idl_opserver.exe, version: 7.0.8.0, time stamp: 0x4990f9da Faulting module name: EKIJ5000RRS.DLL, version: 3.2.4.0, time stamp: 0x48fe3840 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000073339 Faulting process id: 0x948 Faulting application start time: 0x01c9c9fe46599adf Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\ITT\IDL708\bin\bin.x86_64\idl_opserver.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\EKIJ5000RRS.DLL Report Id: 84665830-35f1-11de-ae74-001d7d019035 Event Xml:           1000     2     100     0x80000000000000         5426     Application     Tsunami             idl_opserver.exe     7.0.8.0     4990f9da     EKIJ5000RRS.DLL     3.2.4.0     48fe3840     c0000005     0000000000073339     948     01c9c9fe46599adf     C:\Program Files\ITT\IDL708\bin\bin.x86_64\idl_opserver.exe     C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\EKIJ5000RRS.DLL     84665830-35f1-11de-ae74-001d7d019035

It seems that the problems are only with the Windows 7 beta version.  The new 64-bit release candidate loads ENVI 4.6.1 Just fine.
