Did anyone have experiences that query_dicom() causes some fatal errors that crash IDL 7.1 for some DICOM images? I googled and found there are a few people asked this question but havn't found any solutions for this. I know this is related to IDLffDICOM object. Can anyone help?

Hi Xqs, Have you check if your operating system supports the IDLffDicom object. What I mean is, the IDLffDicom object is only supported for: IDL 7.1: 32bit Windows, 32bit OS X intel and PPC, and 32bit and 64bit Linux If you are using Windows or Mac and your system is a 64bit one, then IDLffDicom object will not work. Hi Xqs, Also, I forgot to mention that in case you are using Windows or Mac 64bit, probably you would like to download IDL 8.0.1. In other words, IDLffDicom object is now supported in Windows and Mac 64bit operating systems when you use IDL 8.0.1. Cheers, Fernando

Also just so you know: IDL 8.0.1 is a patch release so before you install it you need to download and install IDL 8.0. Bill
