Can anyone explain why the filter/co-occurrence on an 8-bit floating point panchromatic image can yield entropy values of > 1? I understood entropy as explained in:
http://www.fp.ucalgary.ca/mhallbey/entropy.htm should not exceed 0.5, yet quick stats on ENVI's filter/co-occurrence entropy gives values that range from 0 to 2.19. Can anyone from ITT-VIS provide the actual entropy equation they are using, instead of just the reference to Haralick? Thanks in advance!
