Hello, I am trying to place multiple images created using the IMAGE function in the same figure using the new IDL 8.1 graphics functions. I know that you can initially create a window and then add each image using specified positions or layout, but I was wondering if you can first create two images [i.e. i1=image() and i2=image()] and then merge them onto a new window afterwards. By creating the images first, I do not run into positioning issues when adding text and colorbars to the individual image. If I create the window first, the text positioning is linked to the window itself instead of the individual image and that creates issues with some of my automated programs. Basically, I have a program that can create single images with specificed positioning for the text and colorbar and it works quite well for what I am trying to do. However, I would now like to make a composite of multiple images and I would like to avoid having to save each image individually and then read each one again to add it to a new graphics window. Is anyone familiar with the new graphics functions that can help? Thanks for your assistance, Kim
