    Hello,

I've read about the 'silent install' options for ENVI 4.7 and it mentions about the setupxx.exe file and the unattend.iss files.

Are the equivalent of these files available for download on the ITTVIS website, where I got my current (4.8) ENVI installation files, available for 4.8? The tech tip mentions the 'Installation CD' so I'm wondering if it's only available on the CD on not when I download it from the ITTVIS website?

Also, does anyone have any ideas on how to deploy ENVI 4.8 on Windows 7, by means of creating an msi installation file? We usually create a snapshot before and after installation and generate an nai and consequently an msi file from that, but no luck so far.

    Any help, ideas are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Mike, I'm working on this myself, with the goal being to use Microsoft Group Policy to deploy ENVI 4.8. I downloaded the envi48win32 and 64 setup executable files from the ittvis website. Next I used 7-zip to extract the EXE files. Inside are some setup files but also an ENVI48_32bit.msi (or a corresponding 64-bit version inside that extracted executable). I was able to add that file directly using Group Policy's Software Installation section. Finally, I used the Files Group Policy Preference extension within Computer Configuration to copy our license file into the correct location so that it will automatically use our network license. This appears to work for the 32-bit version. I'm waiting for my 64-bit test machine to reimage, but that should work too. Hopefully that helps out a bit. I'd love to have another person try it out. Best, -- Steven
