My problem is as follows: When I create PS-plots and add text with XYOUTS to them and convert them to an animated gif file with ImageMagick I get a nice animation but the old output of XYOUTS isn't erased when a new frame appears but remains so that the numbers (an IDL-variable) I want to display cannot be recognized.
