Hi I am using Mac Book Pro with OSX 10.7.2. I have installed IDL 8.1 and found out IDLDE does not work correctly. First of all, it crashes when I click that icon at first place. I have to reopen it every time. Second, even I can open the IDL workbench, I can not see the toolbar. They are all gone!. Furthermore, I can not edit the preference. I am not sure how to solve these problem, but command line version of IDL seems working very well. Does anyone have solution?

I think there are some problems with eclipse (java?) me I have a problem with IDL64 workbench, witch doesn't want to launch. Maybe you can try to remove all the IDL directory and do a new install, normally that will work at least for IDLworkbench 32. Vincent

Hi Vincent, I have removed all the directory and did a fresh installation. Unfortunately, it does not help. I still have the same problem. I got error message like this. [chyan@aquarius bin]% idlde -32 Invalid memory access of location 0x0 eip=0x0 Bus error: 10

Dear All, Please, take a look at the following Tech Tip in our Exelis tech support website: http://www.exelisvis.com/...echtip.asp?ttid=4698 That tech tip gives some workarounds for this particular problem. Cheers, Fernando
