    Hi, I'm very new to IDL, and I'm having a problem with the PLOT function. Whenever I try to call it, I get the following error. Why is it not able to find the path? Thanks. Error opening file. File: /usr/local/itt/idl71darwin.i386_ppc/idl71\resource\fonts\hersh1.chr The system cannot find the path specified.

    Hi Nicole, One question, are you trying to use the PLOT() function in IDL 7.1?. Because the PLOT() function was introduced in IDL 8.0, so in IDL 7.1 this "new graphics function" will not work. Try downloading the latest version of IDL. Cheers, Fernando
