In a previous post I asked about resizing Landsat images in batch mode. Thanks for all your help, I realized that I was perhaps taking the wrong approach. Mostly since the landsat images are not co-registered, so the DIMS keyword doesn't work. Manually in Envi, this is what I do (and would like to get it into batch mode). Open the image, use Basic Tools: Resize data (spatial/spectra): Select Spatial subset using map: enter lat-log of box corners The other way I have done it is: Open the image, select a rectangular ROI (based on lat-log), save the ROI, open the new image; then do the open except choose the ROI, rather than entering in the coords. Can this be automated?

This is the same as using DIMS. When you input the lat/lon values, ENVI is converting them to file coordinates (ENVI_CONVERT_FILE_COORDINATES) and populating the DIMs for the file subset. With an ROI, the first element of DIMS is the ROI pointer.
