Hi~ I try to mosaic a set of hyperspectral images. However, after mosaicking, a lot of black pixels(no-data) appeared on overlapping area and edge area. My input data is 16 bits(1~2^16) and there are no such black pixels before mosaicking. It should not happen. My Options: Data Value to Ignore = 0, Feathering Distance = 10~50, No Color Balancing. I must use Feathering because there are some bad data (low value) in edge on every image, or is there any way to mosaic images using the max value between images ? Thanks

My guess is that those overlapping and edge pixels are really not 'no data' but have a value other than 0, which is your background value to ignore. So they may not be ignored but are very low values and appear black. I would display the original images and geographically link them to observe the pixel values along those edges that turn out 'black'. You may also be able to get better results by moving the images forward or backward in the mosaic so that the image with good data is on top. I don't think color balancing or feathering would affect this.
