I'm curious if there is a way in ENVI to determine which ROIs per class were used as the support vectors in an SVM classification? My understanding of the SVM algorithm is that it does not necessarily use all of the ROIS indicated as training data in the actual creation of the classification but uses mathmatical calculations to determine the optimal hyperplane and that the ROIS that are closest to that "line" are the support vectors. I'd be curious to know if there was a way to see which ROIS there were and/or how many support vectors a particular class ended up with. Does anyone know if ENVI is capable of displaying that information?

I am afraid there is no way to get at intermediate products or information like this in the SVM. We do have an open feature request to supply this information if requested (perhaps a check box option). I will add in your comments from this post to the feature request.
