loading .mat file in IDL

    I am new bee in ENVI + IDL,I want to load .mat file in IDL.I have tried with OPENR but it requires to assign array variable (BYTARR).I want to do loading of .mat without assigning array variable.Please help me through this.

    Hi Prajakta, A .mat file is a Matlab file. What does the file contain?. Is it just ASCII data?, or is it a Matlab program? Cheers, fernando
