Hi all, I realise this is probably close to the category "stupid questions". I have worked a bit with the previous version of ENVI, while working with Landsat 7+ images to find NDVI values. We use the program Atcor for atmospheric corrections, and I used to open all the image files (channels 1-7) and the MTL-file into ENVI and creating an ENVI standard file of them all, and take that one into Atcor. But since sometime last year, they do not provide the old type of MTL files anylonger, so I have to work with ENVI 5.0. Trouble is, I can't get it to read the new MTL file. Any advice? How do you get a composite file made, that can be used in Atcor? best regards, Jannik.

You should be able to just open the .mtl file and the bands open together in a single file. Then you can save this to ENVI format. Are you running ENVI 5.0 SP3? It will show ENVI 5.0.3 in the Help->About.

Hi, Thanks for answering! Sorry for the late reply. Other tasks needed my attention. I thought it should, but I keep getting "Unable to recognize the file type of the input.", whether I just try opening the band files together with the mtl file through the regular "Open" and by opening it as GeoTiff with metadata. It's "just" ENVI 5.0. Would an upgrade solve the problem, do you think? Jannik.

There are some service packs for ENVI 5.0 that updated the mtl format. This could be the issue. If you upgrade to ENVI 5.1, I think it would solve the problem.
