So when I add the shapefiles to ENVI 5.0 for the first time, everything was fine; however, by looking at ArcCatalog I can see the files that listed:
nameofshapefile.shp.vqt.shp
So when I delete it it the shapefile disappear in ArcCatalog...how do I solve theisproblem ? Thanks

Not sure if I understand the problem. Generally when you delete files, they are removed from the file system which would explain why ArcCatalog can't see it.

Ok,
So, ENVI was able to read shapefiles and then when you closed the program and decided to go back to ArcMap or ArcCatalog and when you looked at the shapefiles it came with the name.shp.vqt.shp so i am thinking that the word vqt must be came from ENVI. So, when I delete that one and all of the assoicate with the shapefile deleted . I had to get it from my backup to restore it. Why does it ENVI created that ?

Here is the solution when I had the problem with the files that affected the shapefiles with the vqt file name extension. What I did was to make a backup folder with the original folder and then delete the original folder with the vqt extension files. Then rename the folder whatever you like and it should work.
This works for me. Don't know why if you delete the vqt files that would cause the whole shapefiles associated with it would disappear I would caution you to back up periodically. I am talking about if you view it in ArcCatalog
