Hi,
I have a problem on Envi (4.8). When I want to resize data or to save images to TIFF or JPEG.
When I want to resize data, and change the numbers (for example y factor or x factor) the numbers go all wrong (it adds lots of 0 numbers or negative numbers...) then it cannot do the 'resize' action.
The numbers go all wrong again when I try to save an RGB image (made with an hyperspectral image) in an image format (TIFF, JPEG, BMP, PNG...). When I enter the name of the file I want to save, the numbers go crazy and negative, so the software won't save anything...
Thank you for your help.

Could you eventually provide an example of the numbers that are going wrong ?
I am not sure to understand if these numbers correspond to the output image size or to something else.
Thanks

Yes, the numbers correspond to the output image size. It gives something normal and when I click on JPEG or BMP or anywhere it changes and gives something like: -2147483648 x -2147483648 x 3
I wanted to attach a file but don't know how to do it.
Then an error occurs: 'array dimension must be greater than 0'
On the resizing tool it gives me the same problem. when I touch the x factor or y factor, even when I change the name of the file it doesn't work (gives weird numbers for the dimension of the file).
I don't know if the two problems are linked but they are similar to me.
Thanks for your help

Can you post the contents of the header file (.hdr) that exhibits this behavior in the Resize or Save Image As tool?

Hi,
In the Resize Data Parameters tool, here is what I have: (cannot upload any copy of the screen... i don't know how to do it)
Output file dimensions:
Samples: 2750 xfac: 1.000000
Lines: 6168 yfac:1.000000
Output size: 10,855,680,000 bytes
Resampling: Nearest Neighbor
Output result to: File
Enter Output Filename: blank
By the time I enter a filename (just the filename) for example, I have:
Output file dimensions:
Samples: 1 xfac: 1000000.000
Lines: 1 yfac:1000000.000
Output size: 0 bytes
Resampling: Nearest Neighbor
Output result to: File
Enter Output Filename: name
If I try to change xfac and yfac (for example I change yfac to 2 and press enter) that's what I have:
Output file dimensions:
Samples: 1 xfac: 364.000000
Lines: 1 yfac:0.000162 (I tried to put 2 in this box)
Output size: 640 bytes
Resampling: Nearest Neighbor
Output result to: File
Enter Output Filename: name
So if I enter the number 2 for yfac, it won't resize it as I want.
Sorry if it is not clear, i can try to explain it again...
Thanks

This behavior is very odd and I don't think I've ever seen it. I would recommend to try to update to a more recent version of ENVI to check if you can reproduce this behavior. If you need help for the upgrade you can contact Tech Support: support@exelisvis.com
