I have downloaded the spectral signatures of some minerals from the ASU spectral library in ASCII(zipped) format. After extracting the file how to open the spectral signature in ENVI. After extracting the file there are two files naming "common" and "meta". The "meta" file seem to be the meta data of the file. In that case how to open the "common" file?

I'm not familiar with the ASCII format used for the ASU spectral library, but it sounds like you will want to use ENVI's Spectral Library Builder tool (from the ENVI Toolbox) to import the data from the ASCII files to an ENVI spectral library. You will need to know what data is stored in which columns of the input ASCII data file (perhaps this is all explained in the meta file?), so you can direct the Spectral Library Builder appropriately. - Peg Exelis VIS
