    Error message when trying to run IDL or license wizard on MAC OSX. "cat: .0: No such file or directory"

    This error tends to be produced when the presence of x11 is either nonexistent or the version is not up to date. Apple has dropped x11 (Xquartz) from their OSX and is no longer installed by default. The X11 interface is required to run most of our software as well as the License wizard application itself. Installing and/or updating x11 tends to resolve the issue.
