Hello, I'm using the following sequence to open a window for plotting: ?winsize=500 w=window(DIMENSIONS=[2*winsize,winsize]) however, when IDL gets to this line in my program I get the following error: Attempt to call undefined function: '_IDLITSYS_GETSYSTEM' I've never had an issue with calling WINDOW before, but I just installed IDL on a new machine, and I'm now getting this error. Any suggestions?

Hi Laura, What kind of machine did you upgrade to and what is the OS system and version? i.e. Windows 7 64 bit or Mac 10.10 64 bit. Have you re-booted your machine since you installed IDL?

Hi Zach, Thanks for your response, and your email. I was unaware of the change in the technical support policy. I have a Mac with OS X version 10.10.3. I have re-booted my computer and am still receiving this error message. The IDL version that I downloaded is IDL 8.4 Service Pack 1 for Mac OS X (10.8,10.9) Native x86_64 64-bit. I was running OS X 10.10 on my old computer with IDL 8.4 with no issues, so I'm unsure of why I am getting this error now.

Hi Zach, I just figured it out. I had to include the following in my IDL_PATH: /Applications/exelis/idl84/lib/itools/ Thanks for you help.

Laura, I'm glad you figured it out! If you run into any other problems here is link to a help article with other helpful links for getting IDL 8.4 to work on Mac 10.10. Even though it is not a supported operating system, many people have gotten it to work without much of a problem. Here is the link in case you have any more problems: http://www.exelisvis.com/...X-1010-Yosemite.aspx
