To do this in ENVI, you would have to follow the steps outlined in this article: Crippen, Robert E. and Ronald G. Blom 2001 Unveiling the Lithology of Vegetated Terrains in Remotely Sensed Imagery. Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing 67(8). 1) Estimate dark pixel DN values for each band and subtract them from all pixels of each band image (essentially a Dark Object Subtraction) 2) Calculate a vegetation index (NIR/Red or NDVI would work) 3) Gather statistics relating band DN values to vegetation index values (can be done via ENVI's Statistics tools or through an IDL program) 4) Fit a smooth best-fit curve to the data (definitely requires an IDL program) 5) Multiplicatively flatten the curve and drag all the pixels along with it. (also requires an IDL program) It is likely that this process or something similar to it will show up in a future release of ENVI, but it is not currently available in 4.3. For now, you would have to build an IDL program that integrates ENVI functionality with IDL functionality to get the supression result you want.
