Hello everybody, I want to perform an orthogonal Reduced Major Axis (RMA) regression on my data. I've read about a SIXLIN.pro procedure, which would perform this operation (as well as others). This procedure is not implemented in my version 6.3 of IDL. It is probably a procedure form an older version. Can you tell me how to make this procedure work, or is there a current procedure I can use to obtain the RMA? Thanks, Lupo.Lor

You won't find many procedures from older versions of IDL that have disappeared in newer versions. On the other hand, there are a few freeware libraries of IDL '.pro's that have a very wide distribution. 'sixlin.pro' is part of the most widely distributed of them all, the NASA 'astrolib'. Here is the direct download link for 'sixlin.pro': http://idlastro.gsfc.nasa.../pro/math/sixlin.pro but you might want to study the whole freeware 'astrolib' library for additional options, documentation and links.
