IDL Workbench 8.2 or older fails to run in openSuSE 12.2 and Debian Wheezy. Java HotSpot Error.

IDL Workbench (versions 8.2 or older) is failing to start on OpenSuSE 12.2 and Debian Wheezy Linux systems.  IDLDE crashes as soon as it is invoke from the Linux prompt, with the following Java error message:

Solution

Please, update to IDL 8.2.1 (SP1) Service Pack.
