Exelis Visual Information Solutions enters distribution partnership with Esri Australia
BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 1, 2012 – ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) subsidiary Exelis Visual Information Solutions has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Esri Australia to sell and distribute ENVI image analysis software and E3De LiDAR data exploitation platform.
Esri Australia, headquartered in Brisbane, is at the forefront of Australia's $2.1 billion domestic Geographic Information Systems (GIS) market and is the exclusive provider of the ArcGIS® software suite to the country. Exelis Visual Information Solutions is a leading worldwide developer of geospatial image and data analysis software.
"Together, Esri and Exelis Visual Information Solutions have developed integrated software solutions to streamline the GIS user workflow and to make it easy for GIS professionals to add important information from geospatial imagery and data to a GIS,” said Jaye Lampe, president of Exelis Visual Information Solutions. “Our new partnership with Esri Australia further solidifies our commitment to the user, making premier sales and support available to GIS professionals in the entire region.”
ENVI software allows users to analyze two-dimensional airborne and satellite imagery for a variety of geographic applications, from detecting change over time in an area of interest, to finding and identifying features of interest in a large scene. E3De, the company’s newest solution, provides an interactive environment for extracting three-dimensional information from increasingly used LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data. Both Exelis products are integrated with the Esri ArcGIS software family, making it easy for the end user to easily add ENVI or E3De analysis results to an ArcGIS project.
“An increasing number of Australian organisations are looking for advanced imagery solutions in the GIS space – and our agreement with Exelis enables us to deliver our local market with an unrivalled imagery and remote sensing offering,” said Stephen O’Shanassy, executive manager of Business Development at Esri Australia. “By providing access to ENVI and E3De, the partnership will equip ArcGIS users with a new way to process and analyse their geospatial imagery and delve deeper into the specialist area of remote sensing.”
