Academic Account Manager, Boulder, CO
Are you a self-starter, deal-maker? We are seeking an
Academic Account Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to make decisions for
growing the Academic and NGO (non-government organization) business. We
are looking for like-minded people who can share our passion for success.
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for identifying
and building new business while managing existing accounts. You will be
expected to use creativity in designing and implementing a sales strategy that
builds consensus for Exelis VIS solutions to secure deals. Successful
managers independently and collaboratively execute their strategy to grow their
business. This is your opportunity to manage industry as your own business and

What You’ll Do:
- Use insight and consultative selling techniques
to offer unique perspectives to the ACA/NGO community that link back to Exelis
VIS solutions
- Meet revenue objectives through ownership of the
Academic and NGO business
- Research the community to identify right
stakeholders to sell to
- Independently and collaboratively strategize for
solving deal-level challenges
- Increase sales volume and deal size
- Regularly update CRM system with customer
information and use customer intelligence for account planning purposes
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure consistent
messaging to customers and help them gather voice of customer information when
needed
Skills You’ll Need:

- Communication - effectively deliver
presentations with confidence and clarity, with good written and strong verbal
communication skills
- Networking – identify customer stakeholders and
build connections quickly to drive consensus for deals

job, drives for results, and be independent and self-directed with minimal
direction or supervision
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline or
equivalent experience with strong sales track record
- 3-5 years’ work experience
