Assistant Controller, Boulder, CO
We have a great full-time opportunity for an accounting
professional whose background includes financial analysis, Sarbanes-Oxley
compliance, and a strong emphasis in forecasting and budgeting. You will be
responsible for the general oversight and consolidation of financial records
for our US entity and our 6 foreign subsidiaries, as well as submission of
accurate and timely data for financial reporting purposes. Knowledge of
the distinction between software and hardware revenue recognition and proper
accounting treatment is a key requirement.
Managing staff is an important part of this role requiring
solid leadership and effective communication skills. Previous management
experience is required. We need a pro-active, self-driven, adaptive individual
who works well in a fast paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with the Controller to assist in
the monthly financial close process to include the booking and analysis of
Actuals, Budgets and Forecasts
- Assist other accounting staff members by reviewing
general ledger transactions, cash, accounts receivable/payable, balance
sheet reconciliations and internal controls
- Assist with monthly
analytics and special quarterly and annual information forms
- Prepare Sarbanes
Oxley (SoX) self-assessments
- Review monthly,
quarterly and annual state sales tax returns
- Review all general
ledger reconciliations
- Prepare post-close
financial reports and metrics
What You Need:
- ** Must be a U.S. citizen **
- Bachelor’s degree in
finance or accounting; CPA preferred
- 5-10 years
accounting/financial analysis experience with 3-5 years at the senior
level
- 3-5 years
management/supervisory experience
- Excellent knowledge of
US GAAP
- Excellent technical
knowledge of all accounting functional areas and Sarbanes Oxley
requirements
- Advanced knowledge of
Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications; MAS500 and Hyperion
preferred
