ENVI 5 Shadow to Height tool

The Shadow to Height measurement tool was updated (version 1.1) to automatically extract Sun Elevation and Time acquisition information from the metadata file, if available.

-Run the "Shadow to height" tool from the Extension folder under the ENVI  toolbox.

- Manually enter the sun elevation or push button "compute sun elevation and azimuth".

- Go in the ENVI bar and click Polyline annotation "\"

- Create the polyline annotation over the image fitting an object shadow on the ground.
(Middle mouse button if you want to pan the image and create more annotations)

- Select one or more polylines and click "Compute height from shadow"

- Check the option "Update Sun Elevation for each [Lat,Lon]" if you want more accuracy computing the sun elevation that considers the [lat, lon] shadow position in the scene.

- The Feature counting tool starts and creates an "H" symbol close to the annotation with the computed Height.

- The Feature counting tool now contains all the shadow heights and let you save and browse all the measurements.
