Facility Security Officer - Herndon, VA

We are seeking a highly motivated, well organized and detail oriented individual to fill the role of a  Facility Security Officer (FSO). This person will be responsible for the oversight and administration of the company’s Security Program to ensure compliance with all corporate, government, contractual and legal security requirements. They will ensure the protection of classified government information and administer Department of Defense (DoD) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs and provide expertise, guidance and advice to staff concerning all security administrative functions. The position has a broad scope requiring a dynamic professional who can successfully manage program administration, personnel security, facility clearance and regulatory and compliance matters.  Some travel is required.

Essential Duties:

• Prepare and approve Contract Classification Specifications
• Obtain and maintain appropriate personnel security clearances
• Conduct internal security inspections and prepare for DSSand other government security inspections
• Develop and document security procedures consistent with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and ICDs
• Investigate and report security violations and incident reports
• Conduct security education and training, indoctrination briefings and debriefings
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in security rules and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. citizen, TS/SCI eligibility; Current SSBI preferred
• Five years of experience as a FSO or Security manager withindustrial security duties in support of DoD and/or IntelligenceCommunity programs
• Proficiency with administration of security databases, to include SIMS, JPAS and e-QIP
• Working knowledge of NISPOM, DCIDs/ICDs, and other Government security directives
• Ability to understand, explain, interpret and apply rules, regulations, directives and procedure
• Working knowledge of the government classified contract process
