ENVI 4.7, ENVI EX 1.0, IDL 7.1 License Wizard on Windows may freeze when entering evaluation license

Topic:

On some Windows systems, when attempting to install an evaluation license codes via the ENVI 4.7, ENVI EX 1.0, or IDL 7.1 License Wizard utility, the utility may freeze.Discussion:
The problem occurs after entering evaluation license code strings into the License Wizard utility, and then clicking on the "Next" button on the screen. At this point the wizard becomes unresponsive.

WORKAROUND:

The workaround to this problem is to contact your local Exelis Visual Information Solutions office or distributor and ask them to provide a "fully-formed" version of your evaluation license. You should then be provided a file that you should saved into the "license" directory of your IDL or ENVI installation, for example:

    C:\Program Files\itt\license\

After saving the provided file to the correct location, you should then be able to start ENVI, ENVI EX or IDL in evaluation licensed mode.Solution:
