What are the differences between ENVI Deep Learning 4.0 (Complete) and ENVI Deep Learning 4.0 (Runtime)?

ENVI Deep Learning 4.0 is supported in ENVI 6.2 and now offers two installer options, a Complete version, and a Runtime only version.  
 

Deep Learning 4.0 (Complete)

*requires an ENVI Deep Learning license and offers the following features:

• Preprocessing tools for preparing training data and model manipulation
• The Guide Map and Labeling Tool
• ONNX model management
• Training with seven built-in architectures supporting:
  • Pixel Segmentation
    • SegUNet++
    • SegUNet
    • DeepLabV3+
  • Object Detection
    • RT-DETRV2-Small
    • RT-DETRV2-Large
  • Grid Detection
    • ResNet50V2
    • ResNet101V2
• Classification supporting internal and external ONNX models
• Postprocessing tools for model output data
• Publishing of ONNX models to the Analytics Repository
• Keras debug classifiers with ENVI DEBUG
• Installed size is 8.7 GB

ENVI Deep Learning 4.0 (Runtime)

*requires an ENVI license only (no Deep Learning 4.0 license is required) and offers the following features:

• Data preparation for classification imagery
• ONNX model metadata editing
• ONNX model management
• Classification supporting internal and external ONNX models
• Postprocessing tools for model output data
• Publishing of ONNX models to the Analytics Repository
• Installed size is 3 GB

 

What to do if you want to change the Deep Learning 4.0 installation type
The Deep Learning 4.0 (Complete) installer includes Deep Learning Runtime, so there is no need to use both installers.
In fact, Deep Learning 4.0 Complete and Runtime may not coexist on the same system.

Option 1
ENVI Deep Learning Runtime is installed, and you want to install ENVI Deep Learning Complete:

• No need to uninstall Runtime first, the Complete installer will offer you the option to uninstall.
• In any case, Runtime must be uninstalled first.

Option 2
ENVI Deep Learning Complete is installed, and you want to install ENVI Deep Learning Runtime:

• The Runtime installer does not offer an option to uninstall the Complete version of ENVI Deep Learning
• The Complete version provides all of Runtime and much more
• The installer will provide a warning and exit.
• In this case, you will need to manually uninstall the Complete version first.
