The following error may be encountered when installing IDL 6.3 on a Windows 2000 system that does not have Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later:

    -1:Error installing Microsoft(R) .NET Framework

Discussion:
IDL for 6.3 installed on Windows 2000 requires the presence of Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later. If the system does not have the proper patch level, the above error message may be encountered while installing.

To avoid the installation error message, install Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or higher before installing IDL 6.3.

If IDL 6.3 has already been installed on a Windows 2000 machine that does not have Service Pack 3 (or higher), then the Windows 2000 service pack may be installed afterwards, in order to allow the IDL 6.3 to function properly.Solution:
