Problem with PC Sharpening of ASTER MX with RadarSAT-1 1279 1
Started by Deleted User
Dear Fellow remote sensors,
Running ENVI 4.3 on WinXP service pack 2
I am currently trying to fuse a RadarSAT-1 image (res 6.25m) to an ASTER MX (res 15m) data set. Essentailly the SAR image is acting like a pseudo panchromatic band where it is used to inject texture and improve the spatial resolution of the ASTER data.
I have used the brovey and HSV approaches with no problems, however, when I attempt to use the PC sharpening approach I run into problems. Following the completion of ...

Problem with georegistering image-to-image 1157 0
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I have two different types of aircraft-collected imagery. The first image is georeferenced, and I would like to use it to georefence the second image, which has no geographical information. I tried selecting ground control points in each image. However, the warped image is black, ie there is nothing in it. What could I be doing wrong Here's the step-by-step procedure that I'm doing,
1) Open up my georegistered JPW file, 20060715_Run25_rgb_1m.jpg, in Display 1 and my ungeoregi...

Dear sir/madam:
Thank you for your help! I have a few questions to ask. In the envi-standard header file, what means the header offset I know that ENVI skips these bytes when reading the file. But are these bytes bad datas or the information about something else And what means 'z plot range'and 'data ingore value'Thank you for your consideration!

How to rasterize point data without interpolation? 882 1
Started by Deleted User
I have an ASCII file with several columns, defining X and Y coordinates in the geographic projection and estimated quantities.
I have defined a ROI on an remote sensed image, dumped it to an ASCII file, and processed it with my program, estimating some ground quantities of my interest and saving results to similar file. First two columns, containing coordinates, remain unchanged.
Now I want ENVI to produce a map of these quantities.
The only way I have discovered is Vector -> Rasterize po...

Adding wavelength data to Landsat GeoTIFFs 2325 3
Started by Deleted User
I'm importing loads of Landsat ETM data as GeoTIFFs. I'm doing PAN sharpening of these, which means depending on the method I use the bands all need to have wavelengths and FWHM assigned. This is easy to do manually, but is impractical when doing it with large volumes of data. Is there a way to automate this Is there a way to tell ENVI you're using Landsat ETM Band 1 and it assigns the correct values

'.evf' will line up but '.shp' will not 1347 0
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I have a vector file (.evf) that will overlay atop my raster image in ENVI just fine. If I export that file as a (.shp), import it into the same project, the (.shp) file will not align correctly. It is off by about 30m or so. The same is true for the (.shp) file in other RS/GIS packages, i.e. it will not align correctly.
Any thoughts on what causes this problem Thanks.

start spectral library viewer? 1145 1
Started by Deleted User
Hey Mari (or anyone in the know),
Can you give me one of your nifty undocumented functions to automatically show the spectral library viewer And maybe display a spectrum (if that's a different routine than envi_plot_data....i can do this myself by querying the spectral library file for the spectrum name and then plotting it with envi_plot_data, i just wonder if there's a faster way). I couldn't spot anything with Help, /routines....except i did see an enviobj_spectrum object. I don't think...

Orthorectification using resized data 1109 0
Started by Deleted User
I am working on orthorectifying old CORONA satellite images. The original data is a high resolution, and I was able to create a good orthorectification using the digital line camera mode in building the RPCs. However, orthorectifying takes a very long time with this high-res image and I'd like to be able to fiddle more easily. I resized the image (xfac and yfac =0.3) and created new GCPs for this image. Now when I ortho. this lower-res image it is consistenly far off (i.e., many many kms off...
