Started by Deleted User
I am using a loop procedure in which I restore variables (different for each loop). Sometimes I receive an error message that all logical units are already used.
Is there a way to reset the lun for a restore procedure
Thank you for the help you could give me!

Running callable IDL on a Mac without requiring X11 1738 0
Started by Deleted User
Does anyone know how to run callable IDL from a C program on a Mac OSX machine without requiring the user to install X11 I have heard that this is possible by linking to the X11 dynamic libraries and setting up DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH environmental variable. Does anyone have the specifics
Thanks,
Marty

into a single two dimensional array.
It takes two hours to read values from the HDF5 file . Its very time

java-idl bridge 1398 0
Started by Deleted User
To my delight, I discovered the java-idl bridge which allows me to call IDL from a java code. This is a holy grail I've been looking for for a long time. I was disappointed to find that appearently debugging is not possible. I played with the JIDLCommandLine demo (...\IDL63\examples\doc\bridges\java\JIDLCommanLine.java), hoping to find that I could stop and step through my IDL code, but this doesn't seem to work. Maybe there's a good reason that this is not supported, but this is functionalit...

IDL on Mac OS X benchmarks 1535 1

Dear all,
I would be very interested if someone here on the forum has had the possibility to run the
native Mac Intel version of IDL 6.3 on one of the new Woodcrest MacPro's.
I already ran the time_test3 on two Linux systems and would be very grateful if someone
has the corresponding numbers for the new Apple machines.
My Linux benchmarks for anyone interested:
Woodcrest 2.6GHz, 4 processors: 0.44s
AMD Opteron 285 dual core 2.6GHz, 4 processors: 0.74s

Position in itools 1303 0
Started by Deleted User
i have a question about positioning a graph in iplot. When i create a new graph with iplot the surrounding box is rather larger compared to the size of the plot area. What i would like to do is to specify explicit coordinates for the plot area like the POSITION keyword in the older PLOT procedure. Is that possible somehow in the itools without using scale via macros
Thanks,
Stefan Hendricks
