It might sound stupid, but I am not able to easily open .prj files (projects that I created using earlier IDL versions). Which is the easiest way to open them? The Open Project button is grayed out and hence didnt seem to work. I know it must be something really small that I am missing here but any help in this regard will be appreciated. Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem. I have a project with several hundred routines and a specific build order which I've been organizing using a.prj project. I tried for several hours to get my project working again under 7.0, and then finally just gave up and reverted back to IDL 6.4. I'm no IDL newbie, either; I've been working almost daily with IDL for 12 years now. Surely there's some way to import a .prj file, right? Help!

Chris and Arjun: I hope to have a comprehensive Tech Tip on this subject published externally on our website before towmorrow morning (12/18/2007). A complete first draft has been written on your subject, Chris - how to import build order from an old IDL Project to the new IDL Workbench. Your more general subject, Arjun, I think is handled in a half-complete Tech Tip. I am ready to send both these tips in their current state to both of you by Email outside of the Forum, and I will be doing that within minutes after posting this Forum Entry. They will arrive as HTML and PNG attachments to a cover Email. Other readers, look for a posting here with the URL of the Tech Tip web pages as soon as they are published externally, hopefully by mid-day 12/18/2007 at latest. James Jones ITT Technical Support
