Hello, I have some jp2 images, but when I bring them into ENVI (either directly via File/Open or Open External File/Generic Formats/JPG2000 or JPG), bands 2 and 3 are not displaying correctly. However, when I open the files in ArcGIS, they look ok (see screenshot http://dl.dropbox.com/u/42285242/jp2_screenshot.jpg). To make things yet a bit more complex, once I export a file that displays ok in ArcMap to a tiff file, it displays just fine in ENVI too. Even exporting that tiff file to a lossy or lossless jp2 from within ENVI creates jp2 files that work in ENVI. All projection info and everything else seem to remain intact. I'm suspecting this has something to do with the original jp2 compression scheme that ENVI (and actually PCI Geomatica too) cannot handle but ArcGIS can. Does anyone have some insight on this or better yet an easier workaround than to open the original jp2 files directly in ENVI without the 2-step conversion described earlier? Thanks, Mike

I recommend that you submit this problem and image to Exelis VIS Tech support (support@exelisvis.com or (303) 413-3920). Are you able to share the image? It looks like the developers may need to take a look at this file to see what ENVI is doing wrong. - Peg

Hi Peg, Thanks for your reply. I cannot share the image because of copyright issues, but I have another one that's causing the same problem (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4...19200_4bd_2009.jp2). I'll send this to tech support as well, but if any reader of this post has any insight or wants to try out the image, the link is here too. Cheers, Mike
