I have some misunderstanding with Image Radiometric Correction and Atmosphiric Correction. I have seen YouTube video for this. I am working with Landsat 8 data and ENVI 5.1. I have seen a video "Atmospheric correction of Landsat 8 Using ENVI 5 0 3" I wants to know when I apply Flaash atmospheric correction? is it starts after the result of DOS? is it inbuilt with ENVI 5.1 'Radiometric Calibration Tool'? I request you Please share a movie/paper with whole correction process of Landsat 8 (which start with RAW tiff file of landsat 8 and end after essential radiometric and atmospheric correction of that image . I am  a beginner of Remote sensing.

The Radiometric calibration tool can calibrate data to either radiance or Top of the Atmosphere reflectance.  TOA reflectance takes into account the earth-sun relationship, time of year and day but not atmospheric conditions.  To correct for atmospheric effects, you would first calibrate the data to radiance, then use FLAASH, Quac or other tools such as Empirical Line calibration to calibrate to surface reflectance.

How to get Landsurface Temperature From Landsat 8 () TIRS bands using ENVI 5.1.  Details of image: Identification_Information: Dataset_Identifier: Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Band_Identification: Number_of_Bands: 8 Citation: Citation_Information: Originator: U.S. Geological Survey Earth Resources Observation and ScienceCenter (EROS) Publication_Date: 20140404 Title: LANDSAT_8 - Path: 140 Row: 46 for Scene: LC81400462014094LGN00 Geospatial_Data_Presentation_Form: remote-sensing image Publication_Information: Publication_Place: Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA Publisher: USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) Online_Linkage: http://glovis.usgs.gov/ Online_Linkage: http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov Description: Abstract: The USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center archiveholds data collected by the Landsat suite of satellites, beginning with Landsat 1 in1972. All Landsat data held in the USGS EROS archive are available for download at nocharge. Purpose: The Landsat archive provides a rich collection of information about theEarth's land surface. Major characteristics of changes to the surface of the planetcan be detected, measured, and analyzed using Landsat data. The informationobtainable from the historical and current Landsat data play a key role in studyingsurface changes through time. Supplemental_Information: Landsat represents the world's longest continuouslyacquired collection of space-based moderate-resolution land remote sensing data. As ajoint initiative between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and NASA, the LandsatProject and the data it collects support government, commercial, industrial, civilian, military, and educational communities throughout the United States andworldwide. Responsibility for construction of the spacecraft and instrument lies with NASA. TheLandsat Program is part of NASA's Earth Observing System global change initiativeadministered by NASA's Earth Science Enterprise. Data processing, archiving, anddistribution are performed by the USGS. The primary ground station, the datahandling facility and archive are located at the USGS Earth Resources Observation andScience Center (EROS) in Sioux Falls, SD. NASA managed flight operations from thecontrol center at the Goddard Space Flight Center until October 1, 2000, at whichtime responsibility for flight operations transferred to the USGS. The ground systemis able to distribute Landsat 8 OLI/TIR data within 24 hours of its reception at theEROS.
