Hi all! I've been looking through the landsat 7 and 8 images for a while and was just wondering, if it is possible at all to extract a DEM from landsat images? My initial hunch says no. Although there is slight offset of those images, but the angle seems too small to be able to extract terrain info. Any ideas?

I don't think there is true stereographic coverage for Landsat but additionally, the images are not distributed with RPCs that describe the sensor to ground model which are required for DEM Extraction in ENVI. Usually images are used in their 'raw' form (before orthorectification) along with the RPCs to build the epipolar geometry necessary for DEM Extraction. So I don't think enough information is passed on with Landsat data, which is already geometrically corrected, to do this.
