Hello all, I'm a relative newcomer to ENVI/IDL. I'm trying to create 2D scatter-plots of small spatial sub-sets within a scene; ideally, I'd like to have 4-5 spatial sub-sets, and display them in different colours within a scatter plot to visualise trends. Ultimately, I'd really like to produce a matrix of scatter plots showing the same data sets; I've seen this done before in MatLab and other packages. I've written some IDL code for basic image processing and file operations, but I've not performed any visualisation of data before. I'm not really sure where to start here, so I'd be grateful for any pointers. My thanks in advance, Simon.

Ok, I think I can answer part of my own question. There's a plotting utility called 'cgScatter2D' within the Coyote Library which is perfect; it will allow plotting of multiple data sets on the same chart in different colours, and lots more besides. Perfect! The remaining problem is how to select the spatial subsets. I would like to be able to select geographic areas in orthorectified imagery using the ROI tools in ENVI, and extract data from raster bands within IDL. Does anyone know if this is possible / simple? My thanks in advance, simon.
